Privacy Policy

This is starting wording that describes how the software behaves. Have it reviewed against the law that applies where you operate before you launch, and edit anything that does not match your own practice.

What we store

  • Practice results. Speed, accuracy, character counts, which keys you missed, and which level you typed.
  • Account details, if you create an account: your name, email address, a hashed password, and your preferred language. Passwords are hashed and cannot be read back by anyone, including us.
  • Browser storage. While signed out, your last 200 results and your light or dark preference are kept in your own browser and are not sent anywhere.
  • Server logs. Standard web server records, which may include IP address, browser and the page requested.

What we do not store

The text you type during a test is compared inside your browser and is never sent to our server. Only the resulting numbers are.

Cookies

A session cookie keeps you signed in and protects forms against cross-site request forgery. If advertising or analytics are switched on, those providers set their own cookies — see the sections below.

Advertising

When advertising is enabled, Google AdSense and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising through Google Ad Settings, or opt out of third-party vendors entirely at aboutads.info. We do not have access to the cookies advertisers set.

Analytics

If Google Analytics is enabled, it collects aggregate usage data such as pages viewed and approximate location. It is used to understand which parts of the course people actually use.

Children

This site is suitable for all ages, but accounts are not knowingly created for children under 13. If you believe a child has registered, contact us and the account will be removed.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the data attached to your account, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for the account and every result attached to it to be deleted. Write to hello@example.com from the address on the account.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated date at the bottom of this page changes with it.
