About TypeAtlas

Typing tutors overwhelmingly teach English on a QWERTY keyboard and stop there. That leaves out most of the people who actually need the skill: students writing exams in Hindi or Tamil, clerks filing in Arabic, anyone whose working language is not the one their tutor was written for.

TypeAtlas runs the same graded 50-level course in every language it supports. The structure is identical — home keys, key pairs, words, phrases, sentences, paragraphs — but the letters, the words and the keyboard layout are the ones you actually use.

How scoring works

A word is five correct characters, the standard every typing test uses, so a score here means the same thing it would anywhere else. Net WPM counts only correct characters. Raw WPM counts everything you typed, right or wrong; the gap between the two is what accuracy is costing you.

Why accuracy comes first

A single mistake makes you stop, find the cursor, delete and restart. That costs more time than typing slowly ever does. Every level here asks for an accuracy figure as well as a speed, and you have to clear both.

Who makes it

TypeAtlas is built by AjonTec. Corrections and suggestions are welcome — if a word or sentence in your language reads wrong, tell us which language and which level and it will be fixed.
